hi everyone , has any1 got experience with arrowanas ?? i bought my 8-9 bby last week and as far as i can see he hasnt eaten yet and im starting to worry.
The usual diet for my tank is mussels , white bait ,other seafood and cichlid pellets but im just wondering if any1 has come across a better kind of food for a young aro or is his none eating due to his moving tanks, any ideas or advice would be great.
thanks alot

dont!! wont eat cricket trust me. my lfs picked up 50 of these guys the only thing they ate was bloodworm, go for live BW cus what happen is if its to big they will spit it out threw there gils.
plus all my 5 are healthy as ever.

hint live blood worm. frozen bloodworm will just pollute your tank.

I got a warning from the gf that I'm not aloud to try crickets but if aros like em that much I think she will have to deal with it lol

Let us know how big are your baby aros..

If they are too small, they CAN'T eat crickets as the crickets' head are hard and you have to remove the sharp legs and its body has some type of shell/wings that needs to remove prior feeding to young aros. I have fed crickets' abdomen to young aros before, but they will struggle with the food. Frozen blood worm will be well accepted by them, if they do eat.

Anyway, I have had few encounters with young aros at 2 - 3" and they will not eat for the first few days, up to 2 weeks due to stress, transportation and a new environment, however, keeping baby aros in a group, about 5 of them, can quickly reduce stress, however, do keep a lookout for fights if they are not well comm or different sized.
