Baby aro not eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
cover the back and sides, so it cant see out of it, it will then eat very soon after.
make sure water is good, filter is working, no amonia.

give it time, it can take up to 2 weeks in some cases.
in my experience, all my aros ate with in 2 days of intro or less, blacked out back and sides, bright light inside tank so it cant see out as easily. and put it in a place where there is not high foot traffic.

It has a towel covering the sides and back he eats now I have been cutting cichlid pellets in half so he can eat them okay. He isn't big enough to eat them whole yet

I wouldn't bother with lights off or towels over the tank. Towels, in my experience, just freak out the fish even more. Just move very slowly around the tank, or not at all, and let him get used to it. As for feeding, try some live worms like earthworms/night-crawlers.
