Just got in some silver baby aro's and they arent eating, been about 3 days and im starting to get worried at this point, one of them still has a little bit of the yolk sack still attached the others do not.

i started with frozen blood worms and hikari aro sticks broken up, after those not working, mini tetra pellets, flake food, small cichlid gold pellets, today i even managed to catch a small house fly without killing it and threw him in there

the breeder i got them from said they were eating live black trout worms, none of my 3 local fish stores have even heard of them and just offered bloodworms or live shrimp

they all look healthy, between 3-4" they swim around the surface all day, at night i noticed one or two diving down a little deeper than half way, but during the day they are back up at the top

tank mates include a dozen small feeders, baby jack dempsey < 2"

any recommendations? i was considering another water change even though i just did one a few days before they got here, didnt know if it would help or freak em out as they are getting used to the new tank

well i just dropped some more bloodworms in there and watched them for a little bit, they are eating a little, not as voracious as hoped nor expected.....my flowerhorns and jacks dont waste any time with food, these guys seem to take their time, however i just noticed one of them has some clouding on one eye

Just be patient. The babies are always the hardest to feed. Try turning off the overhead light for the tank and leaving a room light on and then feeding and leave the room. Babies always seem to like blood worms.

Cloudy eye is a dease it would be good to treat it, before too late, api has complete set of medication for the to treat common desease like cloudy eye

Try freeze dried bloodworms and fd shrimp broken into tiny pieces. If they don't eat that, which they should, get some live brine shrimp. They can't tun that stuff down.

i wish they would go after the blood worms like in that video, typically thats what i would expect since thats what my flowerhorns and Jacks do, these arowanas will only go after a few of the loose floating ones and just kind of "nibble"

thus far its the only thing ive seen them eat, no freeze dried shrimp, aro sticks, cichlid pellets, flakes, baby guppies, ill pick up some live shrimp later tonight or tomorrow see how that works

im using Melafix to hopefully fix that one eye.....idk if i didnt notice it before and he was like that to begin with or if its something he developed since being in the tank, none of the other fish in the tank have it and its only in 1 eye. Either way im gonna do a 25-30% change tomorrow, hopefully that will help, i hate medicating so soon and so young, but i id rather be safe than sorry.

thanks for all the help and advice, ill try and get a few pics up as soon as i upload them
