baby aro's not eating

that was the only pic that didnt come out super blurry, i am happy to say they are eating more today and one even went for some of the sticks, so hopefully their hunger strike is over

i went and got some live ghost shrimp so hopefully they will go for that, im sure my JD in the tank will enjoy those too, and also happy to say that it looks like the cloudy eye is clearing up, can barely notice it anymore, Melafix seemed to do the trick quite well

time to go do a water change and get these guys growing!
 
Did you acclimate the arowanas?

I bought 4 baby silvers, and they ate an hour after i put them in. They continue to eat anything that I put in.
 
ya i took my time with them, wanted to make sure i did it right since i spent so much $$ on these guys, 20-30 min to make sure the temp was the same, then mixed in a lil tank water, 5-10 min later a lil more, then released them

they were shipped overnight, maybe that added a lil extra stress, they seemed to be comfortable entering the tank, they werent hiding or anything, only thing i can think of was
A: different food source they werent used to
B: stress from the overnight shipping
C: possibly not comfortable with the other fish in the tank at first

but they seem to be doing quite well now so :nilly: :headbang2
