I am planning to get a baby 3 to 4 inch black aro tommorrow but i'm worrying that it might slip through my plexiglass divider. I made my divider myself so the doesn't have the perfect dimentions to fit perfectly across both sides of the tank. There are 2 parts of the divider that is a bit 'loose" so there is are TWO quarter inche gaps between the divider and the tank (one on each side). Also my divider has a 2.5 inch openning at the top. Could the baby aro jump across the divider where my armatus is? What could I use to block the opennings? Can i just lower the water level? How high do baby aros jump?

best to wait until you can properly house the arowana in its own tank.

I just want to grow it out from a divder and then remove it so i can house it with my armatus in the same tank. Unwise move?

What can i use to seal the gaps?

Depends on how many you want to buy, who knows maybe youll get lucky. Personally I would recommend growing the aro out to 5-6" before adding any tank mates, then 10-11" before adding any potentially dangerous tank mates. That is going to take alot more then a divided 20g tank.

Get egg crate from Home Depot. Cut to size. I know its not pretty but it works.

A baby black arowana will fit through the egg crate.
