My baby aro I bought is doing fine with all my fishes. 6 dats, 5 clown loaches and 1 baby Delhizi.

i hope you put them in not so deep tank ... juvenile aro are very sensitive with deep water even though they rarely swim to the bottom of the tank
and your dats could be the source of problem later on , better watch it closely

I agree. Small , but frequent water changes. I usually "age" the water by letting it sit out in a bucket. I feed lots of small meals throughout the day. I agree with the no tankmates for a while. It might be fine....but why risk it. They have long, delicate fins at that early age. I also like lots of live plants in the tank. One other thing is that I use "Blackwater" extract. Many companies make some sort of Amazon Extract that softens the aquarium water and adds a lot of vitamins and minerals as well. Lastly, I try to vary the diet of my baby Arowanas. I am raising a baby black arowana now that is about 3.5". I got it about a month ago at 2.5" and it's doing great. If you follow the instructions that I gave you above, you should never have another problem.

in my own experience, the larger they are the easier they are to care for, i had a 3 inch silver and it died, to be honest the brood he was with looked a bit sickley, but i stepped up to a slightly larger 6 inch jardini and haven't had any issues to this day, he is quite happy in his 150, and will be evicted to his 359 gallon mansion in the next year or so
