Baby arows $12.99

Today at LFS they had tiny little silver Arows still with their egg sak for sale for $12.99.. i wanted to buy the four itty bittys but my husband said never buy them with their egg sak..to vulnerable to too many diseases and bacterial infections.. i felt so sorry for them..if they are still there next week maybe i will take a baby home..because if it is hardy enough to last a week it may be okay,

Yes they are very vulnerable with their yolk sack. You shouldn't buy them when they are that small, and really no one reputable would sell them that small. That being said I do know people who have bought them that small and had them live. You might want to ask about buying one and having them hold it for you til the yolk sack is gone.

Its really cruel when they sell the aros still on the yolk cause' they had to kill the father aro to get to the babies. And they are very vulnerable when that size and half of them at the lfs probably won't live.

wow i did not realize that they had to kill the father.. i cannot believe that they would do that and i will say something to LFS when i go back..how could they have ordered such tiny Arows ,,,,,,,,, thank you for letting me know.

That is what I mean't by not being reputable. Arows are mouthbrooders. The can order them the same way some lfs' order tattoo'd and died fish. They sell and fish suppliers want to make money. Some people won't buy a 7" arrow for $60.00 but they have a better chance of selling them at a smaller size and more affordable price.

your welcome that is why i never buy aros that are still on the yolks. And it really ticks me off when i see the baby aros on sale for what ever cheap price and they are still on the yolks. It just wants to make me take out a permanant marker and write on the tank "Do Not Buy These Fish They Killed The Father To Get These!!!". That is one of the things that pisses me off in the fishkeeping hobby.

well that makes sense and i know alot of the not being reputable things ..like lying to people about the size pacu grow.. and the dyed fish.. but i never thought about the Arow fathers being killed so thye could take the babies..some LFS are so low... and so cheap... everything is always about money and they give very little concern for fish welfare.. thats why i wanted to buy them..i knew that they may have a chance with us..but it is also heartbreaking when they die on you..
