So I guess you didn't like everyone telling you to check your regulations in the other thread so you started this one?
honestly! just accept the facts and don't be so lazy. just go to your state fish and game website and look for the laws. if you know it is illegal, then stop trying to ask people how to catch them! also this thread should be removed because it is the same as your other one.

I'm sorry but you "think" and you "have not checked the local laws" yet you feel comfortable telling people "it's hard to observe the law".

You really need to pull you head out of your rear before you tell people to break a law that comes with pretty serious penalties if the authorities want to make an example.

I have checked my local law and know exactly what is legal and illegal with respect to LMB. It's right in the fishing regulations for goodness sake! It's not all that hard to take an hour or less and thoroughly read your fishing regulations. Most are available online (if you can read this, you can read the rules and regulations). In some cases you might have to dig a little deeper and review your state code. In the end you'll be perfectly informed.

Listen, I did not tell someone to break the law first of all, no where in my post did I say go out and do it, I did mention the way I catch fish that I intend on keeping. I do know the basic laws such as bag limits and size restrictions, but I was under the understanding that it was illegle to keep native fish live and transport them without special permits, but since you got so nasty about it, I went checking around and rereading the local laws. In my state, and as long as you follow the few simple rules (fishing license, bag limit, size restrictions, and methotds of capture) it is totally leagle. So all this time I thought that I had been breaking the law when really I had done nothing wrong, so thanks I guess for making me go reread the local laws.

If the Local laws are different for other people in different states, then yes, I do think it is difficult to keep local native fish if one chooses, and if someone decides to do so without following those laws, they need to be aware that there are consequences that they would have to pay for not following them.

Sorry for being so nasty. I'm glad you looked into the law and now know what you can and cannot do. I hope to put a better foot forward.

i've had great luck with a size 12 or 14 long shank worm hook(tiny wire hook) put under a small bobber with only the smallest weight(used for flys, just enought to pull the bait under water) with a mayfly on it. i caught about half a dozen 3" bass that day, i probably could have caught a lot more if i tried. just rig this up and drop it next to some cover were there are going to be baby bass cruising around and watch for the bobber to start pulling away, oh and make sure to flatten the barb all of mine were perfectly fine when released and i even caught one twice.

i've set a net between rocks and chased them in before

if they're about 3" you can catch them on a small hook
