For pelleted foods, Hikari cichlid gold sinking type 'baby' size pellets are perfect. same shape as the carnivore pellets, but a lot smaller.
I've also used hikari lionhead.
Mysis would also be a great choice. I really dont' like bloodworms because they don't digest the skin of the bloodworms (mosquito larvae type) and I've had bichirs get gas trapped in them from it.
