in my experiences keeping blacks, unless your water is super clean, the fins will be tattered. Idk why but the blacks fins are super sensitive to water conditions. You might want to test the water before you buy but if its eating thats a good sign. Im sure if you take good care of the fish the fins will heal but will not be perfect. fyi blacks sell for $45/ 3" here in Hawaii. good luck, but i would get a lei LOL
 
went by and picked the little guy up this morning and hes in his tank now swimming around. :D He wasnt as in bad of shape as I thought; however, im still worried about him and going to watch him closely. Ill post pics of him in the media lounge in the next couple days.

ps. I tested the water that he came in and............lets just say as soon as the strip went in I couldnt stand to look at it because it was so bad. Poor guy.
