I've got a tank of five golds and a tank of five reds and they are just fine eating goldfish but recently I bought a baby black piranha. its less than 2cm long and im not sure what to feed it. ive been tossing some dried floating blood worms and he eats some when the filter pressure shoots the worms down but this doesnt seem very efficient as I often have to take out the ones that end up floating around the top. I've got him alone in a 10 gallon right now.

what should i feed him so he can grow to be big and healthy? and how much should he be eating?

thanks!

I'm starting to believe this forum needs a sticky pertaining to the dietary do's and don'ts and whys.

Good food - None processed fish fillet , market shrimp, krill, cephalopods, earthworms,
none cyprinindae fish, ocassional boiled turkey, pellets/flake if you can.

Bad food - Cyprinids (goldfish,Rosies,Comets,Guppies,Minnows,shinners,Danios,barbs,carp,chubs,etc..)
Terrestrial animal fats, Fats contained in fowl, Fats used to cook or process foods.

worms, bits of shrimps or fish. I never had any luck getting mine to eat flakes or pellets. Be careful with worms and your substrate.

I wouldn't worry too much as not everyone will go ahead and read the sticky in the first place

so does that mean when somebody asks a nutrition question we should all respond at the same time with a link to the sticky? :naughty:
