I caught some baby brook trout during the weekend along with some sticklebacks and some dace. They have been in my 50 gallon pond since Saturday and seem to be thriving ( most likely since the edition of aquatic plants and microbe lift) anyway I've been trying to feed them but they haven't really been all that enthusiastic when it comes to bloodworms or pellets.:grinno:

It may take them awhile to acclimate, dont over feed, they will eat when they get hungry enough. The change over to pellets may come slow so have plenty of live or frozen goodies on hand.

Hello. I actually just saw them eat some gnats that fell into the pond. They also seem to like freeze dried tubifex though

make sure there is plenty of aeration in the tank!

Hello. It's actually a pond and there currently is no filtration/aeration I'm sorta trying to make the pond all natural.

That's not a good idea since trouts require low temperater rivers that are fast flowing. They need a TON of oxygen. That pond is going to heat up like crazy and that will kill the trout. Hate to be negative.

you can try feeding them freeze dried krill, that is the first thing that my brookies would go after.

The fish were collected in a small shallow creek with almost no water movement. Also the pond is shaded and I have a lot of pondweed. Thanks your your concern.
