ok ty moon ill try my best to get some to raise.also would a 20 gal long work?

nvm lol also wats a good food to feed them to keep them alive for a long time?

grab a friend and a 8-10 foot seine, look for a stream with a nice size dropoff in the middle, walk along the edges, make a few passes. try a stream that empties into a pond/lake that houses bullheads. also, they seem to prefer muddy bottoms so dont give up after a few passes. seining a deep pool also means, be sure you have enough weight on the bottom, because you might pass over the fish

I caught a couple babies about an inch long in a river, they are usually in muddy areas with less current

i would just try to catch them on a hook. thats how i got mine and hes about 3-4 inch i caught him in a shallow place, muddy. if you are worried about stressing a bullhead out i wouldnt worry at all. take some Pliers and bend the barb on the hook so it comes out easier. after i caught mine it was about 4 more hours before i actually got him in my tank. they are tough as nails! good luck findin one ;)

Um why you want bullhead if you have only 40gal tank at this moment? Think you are better off with madtoms, they are much smaller and suitable to your 40gal tank.

Believe it or not, i caught 1 with a empty water bottle. other then that, wait in till spawning season in late spring. and wait a month and you get this......i used a scope net.
