Baby clown loaches at petco...

They had the cutest little half inch clown loaches at petco. I asked if they could be sold at a reduced price because of their size, but the guy said even though they looked too small for that price, it was still $7.99 ...

They were SOOO cute. But I didn't want to buy a group of em and not get enough because they were so expensive and have half of them die on me.

Petsmart is selling them for 3.38 a pop. Better get them before the sale ends on the 22 of May.

With my experience i wouldnt buy anything at petsmart or petco. Their fish are unhealthy I would save your money for a healthier clown loach at a LFS. Thats my opinion.

Yea the petsmart near me has given me no problems as far as unhealthy fish. The petco is a different story but I try not to buy fish from them. I think its different every store depending on who they have working in the fish department. Oh and $7.99? the clown loaches at my petco are $12.99

Yea and I bought one at a Petco that was almost an hour and a half away for that price because it was an oddball with one of the most unique patterns ive ever seen. I was stupid and put it straight into the main tank without quarantine and ick killed the biggest clown I had, at the time, along with the one I bought. I was pretty mad.

If they were only 1/2" in size, they were most likley F1's produced from hormone induced spawns by a commercial farm in Florida. That would also explain the higher price.
