Baby Convict Pictures..

i put baby fry food for the babies & nls for the parents in my tank a couple times a day. im pretty sure the parents are not eating their babies. i had catfish & silver dollars in there too until the babies were about a week old and i had to take them out bc i know they were nabbin a few babies here & there..

the only thing in my tank now is convicts (& a pleco & 3 zebra danios) but 4 of the 5 convicts are about 2-3 in. the other one is double their size and they wont let any other fish come anywhere close to their whole side of the tank. or else.

I mean if you do feed the parents will they than let the kids grow out to adults while in same tank?

Sometimes it helps though if you remove one of the parent fish.

I think the mom might get nervous and eat them sometimes, always the first batch pretty much.

Convicts are cute, fun to watch, but better in same sex pairs imo. I find convicts to be terrible feeders. They are too fast to catch, and I've actually lost an Ornate Bichir who swallowed one a bit too big and the thorns on its top killed it.

But they are nice to keep if not breeding..
