i jsut put a 1-1.5 inch dat into my 120, he is the only fish in there since i wanted to see what colors he would have over yellowish sand than black. he had very nice colors. but now he has just stoped and is the floor, he will slowly turn onto his side and they stand up again. any idea whats going on?

ive noticed if i leave the room he will move to other parts of the tank and color up, but when im there he turns greyish color and stops swimming

i just looked around the corner of the room, and he is a yellowish color and he is swimming around up and down the tank and around the tank. once i walked into the room he stoped swimming in sat there. is he just scared of me?

what should i feed the dat? i have put in some krill and blood worms but it hasnt eaten any. should i try feeders for now? the store was trying to feed it flakes.

Not sure why he is acting that way but if he is still swimming around then he might just be scared and still trying to get used to his new surroundings...try feeding him some market shrimp or fd shrimp or krill, if he doesn't eat still try some guppies just to get him to start eating or you can try nightcrawlers. Good luck with it.

It might be hard for a 1 inch fish to find bloodworms in a 120 gallon tank. I would move him into a grow out tank wheres its easier for him to find food.

i always dump them near him and he usually stays in that spot
can anyone id this guy?

That has REALLY wide bars! I would add some garlic to the food you are feeding, might stimulate his appetite with the smell.

wow that thing looks awesome. it looks like an american tiger to me. my ngt's will also do the same thing yours does. but then again, they have 1 eye and no substrate, so maybe they're looking at their reflection. u can definitely try some garlic extract, if not get some rosies for him and see if he'll eat them

He's just super stressed. Add a little more hiding places. Dats in general will always get low on their side when there extremely stressed. You can tell right of the back by its colors. I say its a NTT. Try some ghost shrimp for now to get it moving around. After a few days of improvement, go ahead and try giving some frozen or freeze dried shrimp. Good luck
