Sumatra dats have a gold/red skin with nice fat bars. They're pretty easy to pick out from a tank full of normal indos.
I was joking when I asked about it being a Sumatran.AT not IT. And K krichardson Sumatra dats have a gold/red skin with nice fat bars. They're pretty easy to pick out from a tank full of normal indos.
....as I said earlier he color threw me off due to the lighting in the photos but indos dont have those dots on the tail..better photos will put this to rest.I don't think it's a silver dat, His body definately has a yellow/gold color.
100% AT regardless of its color and all datnoids are not brackish. There has been some gold tinted AT's.
A lot of information on dats out there is 50/50. All dats can take salt in water to a certain level. There's been plenty of dat keepers around that have grown a lot of dats in all freshwater to big sizes with no problem so why would I go off information that has already been proven wrong by other members ? There's a lot of stuff that still remains a mystery about datnoids..Not to question you or anything but why does my research consistently tell me dats are both fresh and brackish, but specifically AT's prefer brackish?
