Picked up this lil guy at the LFS today, set me back 40 bucks! Anyhow he is all alone in a 20g i had setup for some baby severums i grew out, i want to add some movement to the tank but nothing that would stress the lil guy out. I was thinking mayb a small school of cardinal tetras or something, I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks =)

You could do cardinals or any other similar non fin-nipping tetra. Maybe if they're available, you could do a couple threadfin rainbows

Mollies work well and the ebjd will keep the molly population in check.

Some small geos would work okay with him some nice Cory cats I love sterbai have about 15 in my tank and they are awesome um pictus cats, tinfoil barbs about 2 inches, maybe a fancy pleco or 2 , small clown loaches , repheal catfish things along those lines I would say but keep in mind that you will def need a upgrade lol

I thought cardinal tetra would be cool with my ebjd when he was that small too. He killed 12 of them and they were large over night. I now keep my juvi ebjd with 4 types of geo 3 kinds of sevrum a larger blue acra a large blood parrot 2 rainbow cichlids a firemout and clown and yoyo loaches.

It stinks too because they grow super slow I'm already moving sevrums out I bought smaller and after the ebjd I fear he will be in the grow out forever.

I would add nothing. Ebjd can be as hardy as the reg JD or very weak ans susceptible to parasites at a young age. Unless you qt the fish first I wouldn't risk it, especially when you paid $40 for one!

Someone suggested various catfish, I gotta disagree. Ebjd grow super slow, not ling until those cats will swallow him up! Id keep him alone a few weeks, make sure he's eating and such, then add 30 feeder guppies so he can munch them at will!
