baby fahakas, in Asia

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
expect much much less than $10 here, last time I heard its only around $4 each, and still can go cheaper if buying more than 1, besides everything here is way cheaper than elsewhere, specially when people have found ways to breed them.

I seen a bunch of baby puffers like those in my LFS $10 each , I was surprised to see so many in one tank. I've had 2 in the past but they died, I could never get them to eat anything.

Eddie is a vendor here. Maybe he can clear that up. I'm not saying it is impossible, nor that it has not been done. I am also curious like Homer is. I found a small (believed to be) male fahaka around 10-12 inches. I have to say I have thought about trying it, but not done anything towards that yet as they want $225 for him LOL

Asian fish breeding: "I took 50 of fish X and added them to a huge flooded field, which I drained two years later and took the babies." So by that standard, no im not surprised by this.

Flooded field could also be changed to "GIANT HOLE DUG IN THE GROUND".

My other guess is that the babies were bred through hormones or external processes (IE Take the Sperm of the Male and Take the Eggs of the female and mix them in a bowl. Incubate and POOM! Baby Pufferfish!)

Either way, however they are doing it, Id love to get my hands on one that small. My second fahaka came in at about 4inches, and is also stunted. After 5 months I have had no growth at all, leading me to believe he just as my last one was kept in a small holding tank too long. Anyone want a stunted fahaka whod be good in a 55gal?
