In my experience with Oscars the black will turn more of a gray/olive green as they mature. The orange on my last tiger faded COMPLETELY until he was dull gray at size 5" or so, but then came back GLOWING at 7"+, until I had to give him away when I moved, at 11". I'm not sure if that's common or not. Yours looks pretty nice
