already active 1st day swimming around and kickin some ass eating bloodworms, not even 4inches, no fear of anything in my tank just swims along wherever it pleases:nilly:, never hides, coolest little fish I have ever had and its only the first day! awesome purchase i recommend these to anyone:headbang2

i know there awsome...the only one i found that wasn't over 1' for sale i got then after a week it chokes to death...not i have big cats in the tank so i cant get a nother one...yet...

they r sooo sweet. i have one that is 17". mine love blood worms.

i have a gorgeous 12" one in my tank but only ever see his head i worry he does not eat as never shows . had him a month is it normal he is not with anything agressive in tank

they dont have to be in an aggressive tank, they themselves are peaceful unless its a small enough fish to fit in their mouths, mine i have seen it possibly eat a blood worm once but i dont know if it eats or not we'll see hah

Mines around 20-22" and i very rarly see him eat and had him around a month now aswell. but hes still nice and fat. They do seem to be rather shy and reserved

I'm amazed at the differences in these fish. My 3 fire eels are the most active social butterflys I've ever had! now that they aren't afraid of me. They are constantly out and about even when the lights on, though they prefer it off. Anytime anyone comes near the tank they are out cruising looking for a snack! and they know how to be cute and beg! which is usually rewarded! I can't resist! I leave the light off more often then not though, and the one on the tank is subdue.

i know mine do the same and i reward them too. :D

mine was out and about but now he found the smallest hole in the driftwood an chills there until the lights go out, he won't be able to fit in there for very much longer though hahah and hes brave to go on that side of my tank, my tire-track is over there and he is like 10 times the size haha
