baby floridas- so small

i hate to break the news to ya but those arent florida gars, although they are sold as gars there not really a "true" gar fish at all! its a characin and although they resemble the "gar" its really isnt. ive seen them sold as marble gar,marble line gar,south american gar. but there not really a gar there mor related to the needle fish. the way to tell the difference is by the split tail, "true" gars have a rounded tail. dont feel bad when i fist bought one of these i was tricked into thinking i bought an alligator gar! cool fish tho either way!

True gars are just Lepisosteous. Aka florida gars, alligator gars, and many other species of gars.

If they're Florida gars, they probably won't top 24" max in an aquarium (whatever the size). I'm sure he's got a bigger tank for them though .

So how big ARE those guys, like 2"? I don't think I've ever seen such tiny ones before.

Ive never seen them tthat small either def awesome though
