People always say things like, "they just don't know better and need to be educated about such and such." But, come on people! If you want to get a live animal, treat it like one. Understand that it suffers and needs just like you. Figure out how to take care of something before just think, "Oh, that's cool. I'm going to buy one of those." People need to step up and take responsiblity for their actions. No more excuses. Don't buy or take home something if you don't know crap about it. And, if you don't have respect for animals, you don't deserve one!

Wow!! Fish sales really are dropping!! Gettign desperate now.. It was only a matter of time before this ploy was used.

In South Africa that is illigal. Thank God for that

Isn't everything illegal in South Africa though??

Hmm, just another way for people to make money...depend what do they considered the betta as "fry". After 1 month the betta can survive on its own as long as you give it good quality and clean food. Hopefully those who buy them move the frys into a 1/2 gal jar/tank or which ever soon. Bare minimum I would use for a betta...1/2 gal.

Wow, this is certainly unusual. I understand using small tanks to raise fry individually, but bottles don't qualify as tanks. I can imagine that they're too stressed to show their full colors in that small of a space. Wait, how do they get air?!

today i went to my lfs and they also had betta fish in a baby bottle kind of thing. they also had these colored frogs. they were pink,green,yellow,red..all colors. at first i thought they were artificial but to my surprise they moved...haha
