Baby Jag Rescue!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks, and yeah i dont know its weird because you have to buy more of them as well to stock a tank, maybe its because they may be harder to breed on a large scale since most of them are mouth brooders.... but yeah so the golden one was still being a complete A-hole to the darker one and being relentless about it when the darker one isnt even fighting back so since im going to my parent's place this weekend n didnt want to come home to a dead baby jag i went to the lps and got another divider (on sale for $5 :)) and now the darker one is much happier.

its crazy though the golden one is still trying to get at him through the divider and will lunge when he swims by, its just funny how you can already see such personality differences in such small fish, if i do end up keeping one its definitely going to be the milder one, im thinking the golden one is going to turn into a one-fish per tank monster haha

Hopefully one's a male and female ;]

howd you manage to spot that in a crowded malawi tank, nice one. you can see the jag line spots down its body. what you are saying about it turning on its bro/sis, i picked up 2 jags the same size as these, but now only have one as it turned on its own kin. they grow so fast! i agree that u wont be able to let them go when the time comes. good luck, lets see a pic of them in the tank soon

yeah they are lucky, i dont even normally look at the african tanks but something small and brown caught my eye as being out of place among all the blues and yellows and then i saw that there were two of them, well here are some pics of them in the tank, they are growing fast, their fins already look WAY better than when i got them and they have no fear coming right up to the top to beg for food when i drop it in :)

1st jag (the meanie)

and a pic of the two of them with the meanie dashing away after lunging at the other one through the divider while the chill one completely ignores him and looks for leftovers lol

sorry no more pics but i will try to get some more, just wanted to update, these guys are completely healed up and growing fast, i measured them when i took out the dividers today and both of them have grown a little over .5in :) they are showing some amazing gold colors now and have an amazing irridescent sheen to their scales, also one of them is already showing a faint hint of blue in "his" dorsal fin when the light hits it just right :)
