I would avoid feeders, Try superworms and Hikari Cichlid gold + Hikari Carnivore sticks. Market prawns should be a staple and soaked in Boyd Vita(SP?).

my jar at the lfs was also on feeders and it was 5"-6"
and after nearly two months it is pushing 9" mark

it took me some time to get him on dry food(shrimp)
but now he doesn't even go for the feeders which are there for the TSNs
