The few small islands that they are found on are controlled bu the local government and they are a protected species there.

No need to export their plentyfull as cb As for this Ill have to comunicate some interesting findings ive made on the web Yes there are komodos being kept legaly privetly I think in central europe and perhaps elsewere. Also these privates were among the first guys to bred them and its based on their knowlege that modern komodo husbandry was based on. Dont know if you can have them as pets in most places, possibly not and much likely a ton of paperwork, cash and befriends with the local autoritys is needed. That being said they arent 100% unabteinable, zoos have excess of them, mostly males. In the UK they arent even in the dangerous wild animals list
