I disagree with both of you
It is obviuslly a One eyed One horn Flying purple people eater
I mean thinking that was even close to a gar:screwy:

its blue pike not blue walleye, would also like so see some new pixs of the gar

You just don't know when to quit, do you, MST? :D

Zix - have you tried inverts? I think gar at that size are still somewhat insectivorous, so you might consider live feeder shrimp, worms, etc. if he's not taking to feeder fish right away.

it is true that the accepted common name is 'blue pike' and not 'blue walleye', but humorous in that 'blue walleye' is actually a more accurate description, as the fish in question -of that line of conversation- is indeed a walleye and not a pike. gotta love common names...and (unfortunately) extinct subspecies--

well luckly its not extinct, ive seen one in person and lots of pics just none of them have been DNA tested due to the lack of true blue pike DNA. Their name is what make people mess up when they catch walleye and call them walleye pike or yellow pike :D.

lets try to get back on topic tho lets see some new pics plz

want to post a link for those of us too lazy to search for it (i rarely leave the gar forum as it is).

that and blue pike are effectively extirpated from the Great Lakes region (and therefore extinct since they were endemic). i doubt you've seen one, and without pics there's really no way to prove it anyway--
