They could be P. menarambo. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt since the 1st pair of vertical stripes are not aligned to the others. All of my juvie P. manarambo have perfectly aligned stripes. And, they definitely don't have identical traits of my P. maculatus specimens. Plus, our Singapore members have come up with quite a number os species I've never, or rarely, seen in the US markets. Looks like we have to wait for growth pics to verify the ID.

I don't think anyone has collected in Madagascar in a few years due to their political situation. Even if Singapore receives fish the US market does not, I don't think there are any cichlids currently being exported from Madagascar. I guess only time will tell what species you have. I would think it is Paretroplus menarambo though.
