Baby Oscar Diet

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so tank is like 12" deap? back to front?

sorry just saw 15" deep, I mean no disrespect but this is not a good home for 1 Oscar let alone 3, he will basically live in a confined space. can not go up and can not go back, and you will have water issues none stop unless you do changes every other day of 50% or more. Oscars thick tall fish and have a large bio load. in 12 months they will be swimming footballs. again no disrespect and as always this in IMHO.

I cut mine up pieces of shrimp when I'm eating it. They love the bugs and worms I find in the yard. They eat peas and a few other veggies. There's very few things they won't eat.

Growing them out is the fun part of oscars. They have pretty big mouths and they will stuff them until they try to grab more and some falls out.

Good luck picking a favorite.

Thanks for the diet answers, they're super helpful. My tank is 6ft long, 15 inches back to front, and 18 inches tall. I realize it is a little cramped back to front but everything else should be good for quite a while before an upgrade is necessary. I guess will just have to see how my fish do.

I have 3 babies. A tiger, a red, and a white tiger. They're 1.5 inches along now. One Oscar will be fine for life. I'm just narrowing it down to the one I like best. My tank is fine. Its 15 inches wide, which isn't what some people find ideal but for like 80 percent of its life it should be perfectly comfortable. And if need be someday I'll upgrade. Don't go bashing people's stuff saying it's not good enough. There are better ways for it to be said. Anyways, my fish are doing great. They're little pigs that don't ever seem to be full. They're always begging for more food. Haha
