Here are some pics of the baby Oscar. I'm concerned about the fish get stunted in growth if missed a meal or two. LOL

The above pics were taken on 2/8/16 when I first bought this guy. Now the guy is almost 4". He/she really has grown since Feb.

I gone back to the same fish store where I bought this guy and they still have his/her siblings in the store. They are skinny and some of them much smaller than my fish.

I am guessing mine is a female because lack of bright red pattern on the body compare to her siblings that has bright red body patterns.

Will be 10" by year end. You can't sex them by looking at them, especially a juvie, post some update pics.

Looks good!

Did you ever ended up buying the NLS pellets?

I have a lot of pellet food home. So I haven't rushed to buy the NLS. This guy doesn't like the Omega pellet. So I'm hesitant to try the NLS. But it loves colorbits and cichlids gold. I want to feed him mealworms and cricket. But I think he won't be able to swallow them. So I have to wait for him to grow bigger.

cute little blondie, :)

Personally I would have fed smaller worm, especially if you are referring to large mealworms their outer body is very tough.

Ha... you are right.

I just found partial worm that were not digested by the fish in the water this morning. I think he/she is too small to consume the super worm at this point.

What am I going to do with the rest of worm? I'm glad that I only bought 12 of them.

I did not find any mealworms in my LFS.

Only thing I can think of is cutting worm before feeding , and freeze part you don't use. Or just take the rest back to lfs and offer them the worms, I am quite sure they will find something that will consume the super worms.:)
