yea, i see what you mean about the spots/ocelli/diamonds now.

i still dont know tho....im totally bummed if they arnt orinos.....but staring into the tank i see at least 2 different colors/body forms....idk anymore

i guess ill have to wait till they grow a bit....shouldnt take long tho....they stuff themselves on market shrimp 3 times a day.

hold on, lemme explain. i didnt mean you can tell them apart if they have spots vs. diamonds, becaues they each can have both. what i meant was the overall shape of the spot or diamond. in orinos the spot or diamond is very defined and has clear lines, and is a perfect shape.

in monos or ocells the spot or diamond looks "messy", and is not a pefect spot or diamond, usually looks like a smudge or a blotch. here's some pics so you can see what i mean. you can also see the tail strip. hope this helps

yea, im kinda figuring the same.

like i said before, after staring at the tank for hours and hours im pretty sure i see at least two different body shapes/color forms. a darker greyer one, and a more goldish one. and i hate going by skin color with juvi cichla, but as they are all the same size i would expect them to be the same colors???

and to further complicate the id situation.....

i called my supplier tonight to see what he had to say, he told me it was possible that he mixed two seperate loads of fish together :nilly:

perhaps some of them are orinos and others are some other wild juvies? idk anymore....only time will tell.....i will definetly keep updating tho.....
