baby red tapajos

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
stick with mysis...brine is pretty much useless since its small. Your little guy should be able to fill up quickly on the mysis. My pikes are almost 8" and i still feed them mysis...so its good to get them on it.

Feed it three times a day, the first two feedings just enough to slightly bulge the stomach, the thrid time feed it enough to make the stomach nice and plump. This will give it the fastest growth rate...;). And water changes at least 2 times a week. Gotta watch those nitrites and other bad stuff, they are sensative when small.

After a few packs of mysis they should look like this. By the way P.E.Mysis has the highest proetein rating of any mysis, the downfall is unless it is rinsed good it clouds your water for a little while. Good luck raising those babies

im on the 2x weekly change already. will split the cubs nto 3.
if I had room an $150, i could have gotten 3 like that.
I hope it does turn out an actual RT since they have no baby pics there really is not much i can go by.
the long black line and spotted face is geting me to think its something else. still cant believe noone has info or pics.

We got one pair red tapajos pike, male is 11" and femal is9-10", they are in with other cichlids, they start eat everything flakes and other dry food.

Only Lugubris pikes SUCCESSFULLY spawned is xingu I. Marmorata and Lenticulatas have spawned but I don't know of any that hatched. So no, they haven't been spawned. Lugubris are a pain in the ass to spawn....so far noone has found the right triggers, that we know of anyway.
