i wouldnt get it unless you are goin to setup a pond and keep it forever...because if it gets to big and you sell it to a lfs who knows whats gonna happen to it!!!
You could maybe house it in one of those above ground swimming pools until it gets big, I've heard of people doing that.
Don't forget they're migratory fish and in reality even a 50, 000g pond is really small for them (I'm not saying you can't keep them in a 50Kg pond, I'm just inserting perspective here). They're great fish but definately a life-long investment.
A beautiful catfish but they grow very large. They are very powerful fish and can push rocks and decoration they can attain a length of 3-4 feet even in captivity. They eat any thing that fits into that huge mouth. And grow super fast. These fish can generally get up to 36 inches (90 cm) in an aquarium, though there are reports of some being up to five feet and getting to 100lb in weight. You must make sure you have some one that can take it off your hands when it gets to big and remember it will eat every thing it can. My one was eating 10 mussels every other day at 10".
There's an aquarium on the mainland from where I live that has a few red tail cats, a couple of them are about 5 feet long. They're amazing to look at!
