LFS just renovated it's fish section and brought in a big order. I guess they ordered "Leopard Crayfish" and got "Leopard Catfish". So I'm looking at them going... "Is that what I think it is?" Yup... they ordered in a dozen RTCxTSN hybrids. They were so happy someone wanted to buy them they gave me 2 for $20.

You can see I also bought a cool little BGK. Yeah he lasted about 6 hours before he became a snack. I thought I'd be safe for long enough to move him to my other tank after he passed quarantine - should have known better.

The last 2 were taken after my BGK went missing. I wonder who the guilty party is??

Bloody love RTCxTSN - I once brought one under a 'rtcXmarble cat', future monsters in the making you have there fella!

Nice picks, sucks about the Knifefish though, perhaps it's a sign of a healthy catfish?

Oh definitely a sign of a healthy catfish. The same one who ate the knife fish has also since consumed his weight in bloodworms and several feeders. (I've only had them 4 days ffs) He is now about 1/2-3/4" longer than the smaller one who has only managed to hoover up one goldfish. I'm a bit concerned that it won't be long before the smaller one becomes a snack. I might go back to the store and either exchange the smaller one or just pick up the biggest fattest one they have left. Hopefully the little guy survives his brothers but I kinda take it as a sign of something wrong that he's not eating everything he can cram into his face.

One of these fishes has a slightly better apetite than the other. Can you tell which??

Had these guys 8-9 days now. The growth is very visible. One is outpacing the other significantly still. Not sure what to do about that, or really whether I should even worry about it.

Nice pick ups Cver!.... I had brought 1 home with 2 RTC's a couple weeks back... all the same size... then the Hybrid tried to take out one of the RTC's... choked on it and they both died... Was a cool fight for a minute... till I realized they were actually stuck together and the RTC's pectoral fins were jamed into the gills of the Hybrid and it wasn't getting out... deep tank so it took me a couple of mins to find my 3' long net to fish them out... but it was already over by time I did.

While it was a meaning less and expensive show... was cool to watch none the less LOL
