got this baby 5" rtg 3 weeks ago, it was eating aro sticks & crickets at the store. but ever since i brought it home it never ate another stick. i've stopped feeding him crickets about 2 weeks ago and been eating mealworms till last week. today is day 4 of pellet only, and he mouths at it but wont eat it. how much longer can this little guy last???

im not a big fan of starving baby fish for more then a week . but i know other have gone longer then that. did u try to break the arow stick into small pieces? i had to do that for mine for a few months.

i would try some small pieces of krill and see if that works. mine loves krill. then when he is a little bigger u can starve him for a week to get him to eat the sticks.

This could be a long shot but do you know the schedule the store was feeding the little guy on? Did you see him eat at the store?

just give him some more time. maybe hes stressing, try to put up some floating plants. that will help.

Feed the mealworms with the foodstick you intend to feed to the aro. I manage to train my small one by doing so because the worm will carry the taste of the foodstick with them. Then try feeding foodstick again best in the morning which is their first meal usually they are very hungry and will be less choosy.

ok today is day 5 without eating anything, i broke before the aro did, again!!! i feed it some MP. tomorrow i'll try aro stick feed mealworms to ease him into sticks

Don't try and starve an aro that size !
It's not good for them as they haven't built up enough fat storage.
Eaz the pellet food in with what your feeding. I don't believe in starving a fish to get it eat what you want. It may take a little time and patience, but eventually it will take to the pellet.
Is it the same brand and type as the it was being feed before ?

yes its the same kind of food, hikari aro sticks. i broke it in half just like they did in the store. wont swallow. eating lots of MP now, i'll try stuffing pellets into MP later when fish can eat bigger chunks.

A little encouragement for you. My RTG com which accept foodsticks without training them to do so.;)
