Baby RTG pellet re-training

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i'd try him on some good sized dried bloodworm..i had a similar situation recently. he wouldn;t eat anything but bloodworm then he went off that after a week no he only eats dried mealworm..but i tend to stuff a 1mmNLS pellet inside the worm..feed late in the evening and with the lights off. I agree that some floating plants will help make him more comfortable.

Another thing to try is some garlic.
Crush garlic cloves and mash into almost watery consistency. Dip normal food and pellet in the mash and leave for 5 mins to absorb. Feed a small piece of garlic enhanced normal food followed by garlic enhanced pellet. You could also try a product like seachem garlic guard which is liquid garlic with vitamin C. I have done this in the past and had success in getting aros to eat pellets via this method.

started feeding hikari sticks to the mealworms, and now the RTG eats less worms per feeding. i think it really really hate these pellets, going to try NLS grow for the next batch.

Also, i'm new at feeding mealworms. i usually feed SW to my red. i notice that mealworms turns into pupae real fast in room temp. and its not an option to keep in the fridge. (wife) so, my question is can i feed pupae to my baby aro? or 18" aro?

i will try pellets again after i get some garlic guard
