So I just picked up a small 3" SAL from my job, I just put him in my 29 gal to grow him out. When he is large enough ill put him in my 55 gal, and then into a larger tank when the time comes. What should I feed him when he is this small? I was thinking blood worms, would this be good? How fast should I expect this guy to grow?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

i got mine back in january at about 1-2in, he's about 5-6in now. still very small tho. i feed it blood worms, shrimp pellets, sinking carnivore pellets, and nls sinking pellets.

I'd love to see pictures of a 3" lung. Usually the juvies I see come in are about 6-8".

Mine loved cut up earth worms/night crawlers. You should lower the water level to about half in that tank so the lung wont have to swim so much to breath. When mine was small I had an area in the tank built up so one end was only 3" deep. The rest of the tank was maybe a foot deep. My little guy use to spend all his time at the upper spot until he was a foot long or so.........
It seemed like over night it grew from 3" to 18 inches lol. They grow fast!
