I have bought 2 baby senegals to keep in the gar's tank. The gar is about 6 inch and the babys are about 3 inch each, how long should I wait before adding the bichirs. Any foods that boost growth? thanks!

If you can get them on a good pellet like New Life Spectrum that will help. At three inches mysis shrimp, cut up frozen shrimp, and cut up frozen tilapia are all going to be great foods. Just make sure you cut the pieces small enough so they don't choke. I don't have experience with gars, but I'd probably wait until they are only an inch or so smaller.
yup, there on freeze dried and live blood worns, will try a pellet (sinking or floating?) I have food sticks and cichlid gold
ive had mine for over a month now bought them at the same size prolly 4" now... they had oscars gar rtc and aros as their tankmates currently with a giant gaurami 9" they have done well with all of them i had no issues.... i feed them hikari sinking pelets, wafers cut them to small pieces, crushed massivore delight, silver sides and market shrimps....
you could crush the CG pellets and feed them... sinking ones are better

k I think not think the gar would bother them however i'll wait till they put on some mass to be sure. how fast does these guys grow?

got My 3" up to 8" in 9 months on slice thin shrimp and Carnivore Pellets. Looks like growth is slowing down but very active and Fat
If kept in good conditions with good food, you can expect up to 1" per month. But it may be less depending on conditions.
Don't think you should mix them. From what I heard, gar's growth rate are much faster than bichir's
