Bro rizzwan, i dun have any reputation to uphold. I'm just a fishkeeper who enjoys my fishes and sharing what i have undergo and what i could help with.

Everybody doesn't live in SE Asia (where these fish come from, so if you can get em for cheap woo hoo cool, I can get a bowfin for free that would sell for loads over there) , prices are different for things in America. STs are rarely imported. If you can't understand economics and why things cost more in different places you have NO place arguing price in this thread

$45 for a 10" wide motoro! In the us you will never find 6" wide motoro under $100 from an lfs. Maybe the fish are cheaper in singapore but in the us (like Will said) allot of these fish are rarely imported so the price in the us is much greater than in other countries.

Yes bro... I got mine for a measly S$45... ;) very good deal i should say... I know the prices for such fishes in the US are way more expensive.. Lucky to be living and staying in Singapore... ;)

I do not know if this is targeting to me or just a general quote.. Hahaha..

But yes i do agree for sure that prices would range between countries. The posts that i'm saying it is for my dear fellas in SG... ;)

It's a matter of knowing where to go and find the best deals for ur fishes. Yes i may nt be able to prove it coz i seriously cant remember where i saw it. So if u're mentality is stuck to the market rate then let it be.

Just to share a tiny bit so that u know, and again i'll be bombarded for not having the knowledge that u guys have, these are some of the best deals i got for my fishes.. I do not buy my fishes frm forums or fellow fishkeepers. All these are bought at farms or fish stores.

My golden bbxb bought at a local farm with NO DEFECTS at 8 inches costs me only $300.
4 bar IT symmetrical clean and stable and was ard 8" when i got it cost me only $50. Same pricing for my NGT of the same size and stability.
My motoro stingray bought at ard 10" disc size costs me $45.

So, i'm nt trying to prove anything. I spoke what i saw. U bombarding and saying i'm not knowledgable and bringing shame doesnt mean anything to me.

The prices you quoted for the fishes u got from farms are quite the market rate now for these species. Not really big deal or anything special about it.

It seems like you're pretty young from the way u reacted to comments on you. If you get all defensive and refuse to accept criticism, you'll never learn.

No one is acting like a keyboard hero or warrior here. We are all here to learn and share information and knowledge.

Just to let you know, real ST ( Siamese Tiger aka datnioides pulcher) is said to be nearing extinct in the river in Thailand. That is why the Thailand king banned the export and restrict fishing on this species around year 2005. This resulted in price hike from high demand low supply.

Guess that is why when you mentioned you saw "ST" selling at such low and ridiculous price, non of the forummers believed in you. As current market rate for true Siamese Tiger above 12" can easily fetch over $2ksgd depending on it's condition and grades.

No one here has anything against you as we do not know you in person. Just learn to be humble and not to get all defensive here. ... chill ;)

You know if you really saw a fish farm with ST that's great, like others have said as far as we know they're almost extinct and not being bred in captivity. So if they're really being farmed then finding out for sure would be awesome. You called us keyboard warriors but you were the first to tell us to learn our fishes, if you had said " dude I saw some a farm here recently with ST for 250"no one would've jumped on you. Now there is a difference with prices of the US vs Singapore, but this fish is a special case as there are so few left as far as we know. If you're not active in the fish market between hobbyists and regular stores and what people will pay, you don't know the "going rate." You state your price earlier as the average price. If you said you saw it once at that price, that doesn't establish going rate. And if it's been awhile since you friends saw an ST as Krich suggested, it's possible the going rate currently is unknown to you. ST were once that price. Now you claim this fish are at farms for low prices, well please try to confirm for us. It's like me saying cross river puffers are only $200, although there are very few ever caught and none are bred, and claiming that as the going price and not backing up such a profound market dip and source. If that is now the common place price and they're available at those prices quite often over there, it would avert our worries over the species decline if you showed us, especially if they're being bred. We would be happily proven wrong my friend.
