Baby silver arowanas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ctoychik - bloodworms and market prawns are alot more expensive to feed than hikari foodsticks. Need some well known brand pellet which is cheap.

AU_Arowana-RG - the tank im getting is second hand and is cheap. I gonna get two 8 x2x2. Just in case they grow out and i cant sell them in time.

That is a bit strange. Surely, 35 dollars worth of raw market prawn (with no head) will last longer than a pack of hikari... even a pack of hikari would actually last quite long time with 10-15 puny aros. How much is one kilo of prawn now?

Hey Rob,

Liking your idea of raise and sell, where the hell are you ordering 15 silvers from anyways. Let me join in the party. Bulk buy definitely sounds cheaper.

I agree with ctoychik Market Prawns in Oz are $8-$10 a kilo, these are the schooling variety and and are grey in colour. Definitely not the ones you see in a seafood buffet. Which makes it perfect for feeding silvers. At juvie size you will be feeding them small bite sized pieces. You'd probably go through a kg in just over a month and a half. So not really that expensive.

Other alternative is to buy Hikari Carnivore floating food sticks at $90 a kg. Juvies at this size can only eat these broken into halves. I would go with the food sticks, as you want to train your silvers from a young age to eat sticks. I would progress them to a meat diet as they reach 4-5inches.

triquee - deal never when through because there are alot of 'rules and regulations' when selling these fishes with the importers. At the end of the day, the sums was not worth it.

If you seriously want to bulk buy, msg me.
