Baby Yellow Tiger Datnoids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, nice but that is an indo, not a NGT so definitely no more salt.

Ok. I'll take some better pictures and post them also. In your opinion, is this a trio of fish that's worth keeping and getting them bigger for a display tank in the future? Are they desirable?

That is something you will have to decide for yourself.A lot of people lose patience with dats due to their less than favorable tendencies but if you are patient and work with them they can be quite rewarding.I have been guilty of it myself in the past but I now have a pretty nice group that I am growing out.

You're right. They came from a wholesaler in Atlanta that had some true NGT about 6-8 months ago. I saw them myself. Honestly I haven't really studied the trio too closely yet. They were listed as NGT and that's what I ordered, BUT I didn't go down and hand pick the fish I wanted this time. They were trucked up to me. These were $15.00 retail, and if I remember correctly the NGT that I saw last time and passed on them were about $18.00 wholesale for a 1"-1.5" fish. That would be like $50-60.00 retail. The pickers might have got the wrong species ,or the were sold out and replaced the NGT with Indo's instead. I guess I'll just look a little bit harder next time, before I holler help with an ID... Thanks again. Give me some pointers on H20 conditions required and anything else that you think I should be aware of ,please sir. Thanks

Well,I wouldn't give them too many places to hide or you may never see them lol...just a fist sized rock or two, spaced apart.Indos aren't fussy about their water as long as it is clean...I would try to train them onto pellets as soon as possible.

Agreed on all. My ph is 7.5 from the tap, and the water is pretty hard because of all the limestone around . Is that ok?

That should be okay.
