True but you still have to account for back flow. Makes sense though with the display being larger but if filled too much it will flood just like a below tank sump. Slap on some check valves and siphon breaks and reduce the risks.my understanding is with the sump on top due to the smaller size if it's water level drops several inches when the power go outs the larger lower tank can accommodate the excess water easier than with the larger tank is on top
