cant wait to see the pics. those are some big losses on the fish but i know how u feel. i lost a pair of johannas, peacock bass, blue phantom pleco, 4 silver dollars and 2 bala sharks because of a filter malfunction while i was away. good to see u got 5 more pikes, got me beat.

It sucks but I had to move on.

You got to lents, thats tight. Where did you put them at, in the 240?

Gani, what you think about me putting one of Rich's tapajos into that 180 I've got going?

I've had success putting pikes in a community environment. The only pike I've had problems with and was too aggressive was my Lent. The same experience with the two I have now. But Rexfish has his lent in a 135 with smaller and less aggressive SA cichlids with no problenms so it really depends on the personality of the pike you're getting.

Agreed,
Many pike keepers like to use other cichlids as a type of dither/target to help disperse aggressions. I have seen some species of pikes who are supposed to be highly aggro be relatively peaceful with other species of cichlids.
Kinda teaches them to play well with others. I always house
Vieja/Paratheraps with my Pikes. This also sometimes works to help cement a bond between pikes. Not necessarily to breed though, cause as we all no Lugubris aren't exactly a species well know for breeding.:)

Not any more, i had to take him out because i saw his bite marks on the side of the severums. Well it lasted a good time in there not causing problems.

Where did you put it. Take care of that lent. Is it a male or female?
