Its been a really long time since i sold my last 55gal setup, wish i didnt. I put so much work and money into it but had to cause i never had time to give it the attention it needed ever since i stop working in the aquarium business.

Just recently, i been wanting to start up another aquarium, but as bad as i want a 90gal, i ended up settling for a JEBO R362 30gal(?). I picked this deal up today for $25, the lighting in the hood was rusted and it didnt come with the filter mechanics, just a simple gutted canopy.

First things first, im going to have to figure out how to DIY a filter system using whats left of the filter. Im guessing some powerheads and routing some tubes would do the trick. Already figured out the lighting, i had a DIY home depot lighting with a actinic bulb and another bulb (forgot what spec its been a min) that i will be retrofitting. I will be making a 2nd thread in the DIY section to get ideas and tips on how to setup this filter, im used to fluvals.

Anyways, it feels good to be back. Il keep you guys updated as i progress.

Thanks

I see why you wish you hadn't sold it.

What kind of lighting, ferts, Co2 (if you remember) did you have on that tank?

I was really going for a low maintenance as possible setup.

All i remember is i used Seachem Flourish ect, and this one tablet that you buy online. Alot of people said it works great, and you just put a tablet about 5inches away from the roots. And a DIY yeast co2 with glass bell. For lighting, i used coralife lights for freshwater planted tanks. Overkill filtration, i ran two fluvals w diy spray bars. Cleaning was really easy since i used white sand, so all the crap just stayed on the surface and the spray bars did their jobs.

For the fish and plants, i got lucky. Since i was head of the freshwater department i get dibs on EVERYTHING. Pick the most healthy fish out of the batch, custom ordered plants and picked the biggest ones.

If you don't mind me asking but where did you get the plants from, could you give me the name of the store? Also do you remember the WPG? That was an awesome tank. I have a 55 right now that I would like to make just like yours.

I used to work at the fish gallery and pets down in Renton. They closed that location and now have a larger location in Kent under the same name. I got the plants through their supplier, forgot who exactly but i know he provides alot of plants to many aquarium stores around Seattle.

Theres a list on craigslist right now where someone is selling a whole bunch of unplanted aquarium plants for 40bucks, you should check it out cause it looks like a steal.

Il try to find out the WPG later but i would guess i had a total of 80 watts. Whatever came with the 24" freshwater coralife units was what i used.

Heres my build thread for the new tank.
