Colder water won't hurt & actually might help for 1st couple times but imo its the fresh clean water that more important. When/if you want to spawn them.do a smaller daily waterchange & they'll probably start. Once they start they might not stop!
alright i did that small w/c after i changed the substrate back to my good ol black beauty sand so it makes it easier to see eggs plus i like the look WAYYYYYYYY more...ill post more pics later on
ive bred so many types of fish i hope i can add RBP's to that list
BRUNER i got my tank at 82-83 that should still be ok even with the cooler w/c to induce spawning? or should i bump it up to 85 with w.c?
Be patient grasshopper.lol. I've never seen piranha spawn in the morning. They always(all that I've seen & heard of anyhow)spawn in the afternoon. It might last a hour or two or go well into the night. Can always tell right off in morning if they truely spawned because male will be circling the spot(fanning) for several days. He might leave the spot here & there but he'll always head straight back. Mine don't always dig a nest that's really noticeable. They will(mostly male)work & mouth the gravel though. Keep up on your smaller waterchanges for a couple days & they'll be spawning by Friday I predict. Even if its like 15-20gals a day in a 135gal tank(example). If a storm is predicted in next couple days that's even better. Mine rarely miss a rain storm!
*looks outside my window* yea...i dont think it will be rainy here anytime soon lol..dont worry bruner im patient haha..want to buy some fry from me? lmao jk
They spawn too much! Every fish I own eats rbp. Well almost all of em. From gut loading minnows, mollies, tetras, barbs, dovii, dat, even rbp eating rbp. Fish so mean in my house I have goldfish that eat minnows & mollies that eat rbp. lol but its true.
