Back into the hobby, need stocking ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Multiple stocking ideas
1. 6x large sized geos ( altifrons) with maybe a dozen large bodied tetras ( skirt/Buenos)
Or
2 . 6x mid size geo ( red heads) + 2/3 severums of different types + 12 tetras
Or
3. Solo fakaha
Or.
4. Pair of smaller parachromis sp. ( yellow jackets / rtm) - may need an upgrade in the future
Or
5. Biotope type setup with firemouth .
List could go on and on.
Personally I'd go with stocking 1 or 2 , if my goal is low aggression , low problem tank.
Just consistent water changes and feedings.
Good luck?

I would do one large pleco like a cactus and an Oscar in the tank

both fish are large enough for visual pleasure, they should t be killing each other, and they won’t be bothered if you miss a water change bc the tank is ample big

A planted tank with low maintenance plants and a nice hard scape with a singe/pair of a larger eartheater cichlid and a school of red eye tetras would be something I would do.
Lots of activity and low maintenance, yet pleasing to the eye.

LFS has a single Leuteus for $700.00, would be one off the dream list if I can make the cash haha.

I was thinking maybe 1 oscar and 3 tiger severums

That’s cheap! They go for about $1200 here

A cool stocking would be a pair or two of Amatitlania myrnae, and 75 Buenos aires tetras. Scape with some nice branches and smooth rocks, add leaf and stick litter.
