I also took a 2 year old girl as my own daughter at 18 when my wife and I got together...Looks can be deceiving. ;)

Financial aid didn't go through and I don't have the means to pay for classes or want to take out a student loan so I gotta skip out on my first semester of college. It sucks but I guess that gives me time to do some soul searching and to get a job

Well college is more trades and apprenticeships where you get right into learning about a specific job and a shorter school time. Some courses only take a year to complete. Ex heating and air conditioning tech, nursing assistant, Accounting & Payroll Administrator. It's meant to give you skills necessary to succeed in the modern workplace and for you to get into a career fast. It's more hands on experience learning rather then universities reading and listening to seminars to learn.

University is for people to get a degree (but much longer school time). A degree in a certain field to help further education and open up many possibilities in a career. Like a law degree with that you can become any kind of lawyer, judge or even an agent. It's where you learn from someone else's knowledge in seminars or from giant books they make you pay for. With a variety of classes which may or may not be degree specific, its more elective then college where college is job specific. Very vague learning.

College you take a program for lets say heating and air conditioning tech they teach you how to build and repair both devices and stresses and challenges on the job in under a years time. Soo learning about just the job very specific job. With this course it only leads into you being a heating and air conditioning tech

University for law you will be taking 3 years off courses explaining every single thing about law. From contracts to laws to criminal system everything you could think of which will give you a large variety of careers you can choose from that this degree has opened up for you.

Hope this helps at all I'm pretty bad at explaining things for others to understand.
