Finally decided to get the app again. I have a question, I had a 125 up and running with bichirs, and some other fish. I got rid of it, and am going to be getting a 49 breeder. I was wondering what is a good catfish, that lives a while that I can put in. Or a group that stays small. Thanks ahead! -tommy

Asterophysus batrachus
(gulper catfish)

That's what I was thinking dive. I kinda wanted a wild one, but not sure if people sell wild Raphael's. I would love some spotted ones but aren't they deformed and don't get above 3 inches or so?

Or maybe a slow grower? Like irwini? I'm gonna either buy, or build a big tank. Can be as soon as 6 months, but much rather prefer a year. You think the irwini could do for a year in a 40 breeder ?

99% of Doradids are wild caught as captive breeding is extremely difficult, I do plan on attempting to condition and spawn a group of Amblydoras sp. very soon though. Never heard if a deformed spotted, they normally get 5-6" and stripeds get 8-12".
