I like black.

Sounds like too much work.. What color blue?

I normally go with black though for ultimate contrast.. I don't own any black fish though.

i plan on painting it. its already blue but i was thinking of scraping it off and painting it black.

I go black with blue rocks and some green plants brings everything out.

i have a 180 corner Tanganyika setup, with pearl reef sand, and a compact 50/50 light. The black painted background makes my Frontosa look amazing!!! Use water based black primer if you can find it, or any flat black water based paint. It works awesome!!!!!

If you plan on photographing your fish go with black. It really makes the colors on the fish pop and it's easier to clean up the bubbles and dust that show up.

ya i think it depends on the fish, blue background is better for blue-body fish. Black better for jaguar, baltoni etc..
