i would think so?

what color background do you have?

yep as well will ph as I see a frontosa in your avatar..

im trying to pick out a background for my new 120 that im moving some fronts into.
that pic was a while ago when i had natural looking gravel in the tank.
i switched it out for black sand and he has been really dark and and he has like grey white bands.
so i was thinking i would have half the tank white sand and half of it black
but i still need a background color

i think im just gona put a black fabric behind it, and if they get really dark try a brown or greyish and than a white or something

i read in a fish magazine (i forget what one) that blue backgrounds keep the fish the calmest, while red backgrounds make the fish super stressed. it also said that black is second best for a background colour next to blue.

i'd second that, i like black backgrounds better than blue though as i find you see the colours of the fish stand out more

Black and blue here. I have one with a forest type scene that is pretty cool too!
